At Namanu Day Camp, we know it is important to keep children’s minds sharp over the summer so they can continue to thrive upon their return to school. Namanu Day Camp in the City is intentionally designed to combat summer learning loss so youth return to school ready to learn! The Before & After School Program
Camp Fire's Before & After School Program strengthens families and schools by extending the learning day and keeping over 1,000 kids safe, engaged, and learning during the out-of-school-time hours. The program is shown to increase academic performance while offering youth enrichment opportunities that schools can no longer provide, such as arts, service learning, and experiential activities. A Northwest Tradition since 1924, Camp Namanu (Nuh-MAH-Noo) provides seminal outdoor learning opportunities for 7,500 youth and families each year as a summer resident camp, outdoor classroom for all Camp Fire programs, Outdoor School host site for local schools, and a resource for local community organizations. Your support is needed
Did you know it costs over $1,500 per child to provide our School Based Programs each year? Historically, schools were able to budget for afterschool programs. Those days are over. Your dollars directly sponsor kids in our programs. If you'd like to help us help your kids, please donate.
Camp Namanu Turns 90!
Since 1924, Camp Fire Columbia has offered a range of summer programs for youth at our resident camp, Camp Namanu. On Saturday September 6th, Camp Fire Columbia will host a large celebration to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Camp Namanu, with a day at camp, filled with traditional camp activities, music, food and memories. Are you a Camp Namanu Alumni? We'd love to hear from you!
