"Many thanks to you, Camp Fire staff, Board and supporters for your gift to me and my girls last year in allowing them to continue the education and experience of Camp Namanu. I look forward to being in a position someday to give back as much as we've received."
-Family who received camp scholarship support 2009
"I am in Camp Fire because it is my favorite place to be. The most important thing to me in Camp Fire is giving service. But my favorite thing in Camp Fire is going camping at Camp Namanu. At Camp Namanu you go duck pond boating and many other things. See there are so many things you can do in Camp Fire." -4th grader in our Club Program for 3 years
Steve has been in Camp Fire for 3 years and we've seen him face many social and academic challenges. He was identified as being at risk for academic failure. We worked closely with his teacher, helping him one-on-one until he was caught up. He has since learned how to complete assignments to reach deadlines and his grades have improved.
"The greatest lesson I learned on this trip blossomed from a deck of cards; while our differences in life may keep us apart, it's the small things shared in common that bring us together." - Xploregon participant and teen Board Member
