Often, non-profits who work to serve youth still lock them out of decision-making processes.

Camp Fire Columbia’s Evaluation team will be presenting on true youth participation, and the profound ways in which this shift impacts everyone involved.

Kevin Jones, Director of Research and Evaluation and Rhen Miles, Doctoral Research Fellow, are featured presenters at The Twelfth International Conference on Environmental, Cultural, Economic & Social Sustainability  in Portland, OR on January 21-23, 2016.

Their presentation is centered around Camp Fire’s move toward youth participation in organizational processes such as the Youth Advisory Council, CF Board, and program evaluation. Youth participation across the organization is intended to promote equity by including youth in decision-making in areas of programming that have traditionally excluded them.

These efforts can create an organization that authentically responds to youth developmental needs and perspectives. Find out more here.
