Camp Namanu

Camp Fire lights a spark in thousands of youth every year, keeping them learning all summer long! Namanu Ranch and Overnight Camp are designed for youth K-12th grade, and offers leadership programs for campers.

Camp Namanu was established in 1924 and holds a special place in the hearts of thousands of campers from all over the world. The camp expands 552 acres and sits on the banks of the Wild and Scenic Sandy River, just one hour east of Portland beneath Mount Hood.

Namanu has a rich history of helping campers to explore the outdoors, and in turn learning more about themselves in the process. We welcome over 1,500 campers each summer, and serve as the outdoor classroom and playground for hundreds of Oregon youth each year through weekend rentals and special events. As a host site for the MESD Outdoor School in the spring and fall, Camp Namanu serves an additional 1,600 youth from the Portland area. A night at Camp Namanu could mean sleeping out beneath stars, or in a tree house perched over the Sandy river, or nestled by the fireplace in one of our historic Lodges.
