She began working for Camp Fire Columbia as a site staff, slowly taking on more responsibility and involvement, and eventually became the Program Director for the Before and After School Program in the fall of 2012. In her free time, Kirsi enjoys working in her garden, reading, remodeling her house, exploring new recipes, enjoying live music, hiking, beach combing, and mushroom hunting.
Kirsi grew up in north central Maine, and attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut where she received her B.A. focusing in Developmental Psychology. She moved to Portland in 1999, and has pursued her love of working with youth and families in a variety of capacities ranging from daycare provider, professional nanny, personal tutor, and classroom teacher. Kirsi received her Master Degree in Education from Portland State University and her Oregon Teaching Credential in 2009.
