Julie Briggs

Board Member | Actuary, The Standard

Julie has worked as an actuary at The Standard since 2005, after spending nearly seven years in benefits plan consulting. She has held positions in The Standard’s Retirement Plans business in both the defined benefits area and the product and risk management areas, as well as on the Corporate Actuarial team where she led the enterprise risk management program and provided governance and oversight over financial reporting and product and pricing decisions across all business lines. She has recently returned to the Retirement Plans division as the Retirement Plans Actuary where she oversees product management and development, pricing, and financial reporting.

Education

Briggs earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and classical studies at Willamette University. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of American Academy of Actuaries.
