About Jennifer

Jennifer is the Site Supervisor of Sunset Primary School in the Before and After School Program. Jennifer brings a lot of excitement to the program’s students and staff. Jennifer has always loved working with kids and she is excited to find a career where she can continue doing what she loves!

“My favorite part of working with kids is what I like to call the ‘lightbulb moments.’ When a youth works on mastering a skill, whether they’ve been trying for 3 minutes or 3 years, that is the most rewarding thing in the world to me. When that skill suddenly clicks, the pride and joy on their face is priceless. It’s the reason I do what I do.”

Originally from Salem, Jennifer moved to Portland in 2017. In her spare time, she plays a lot of disc golf. On that note: she recently went to the Amateur World Championships and took 3rd in mixed doubles and 5th in women’s division! Jennifer also enjoys to swim, knit, scrapbook and be crafty.

Past Experience

Jennifer has worked for camps and other youth recreation programs for the last 14 years. Her experience includes 13 years as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Most recently, she was the Sports Director for the Salem & Santiam YMCAs where she ran basketball, volleyball, soccer, flag football, track & field, and more for kids ranging from three-years-old through 6th-grade students.

Education

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science in public health with a minor in French from Oregon State University.
