Andrew has been involved with education abroad and in Portland for several years after finishing his degree in Applied Linguistics at Portland State University. Most recently, he worked as a Unit Director for the Gears and Balagan program at Camp Namanu. In past years, Andrew worked in the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Russia, where he developed English language curriculum and taught in 3rd and 4th grade classrooms. He was born in Monterey, California but has spent the majority of his life in Utah, Oregon, and Texas. In his free time Andrew enjoys hiking, metal and wood working, and learning new languages. This is his second year with Camp Fire Columbia and he is interested in working to help middle schoolers find their spark and learn to take agency in their community!
