Amyl is from Minnesota and moved to Oregon in 1998. She worked at PSU for ten years and earned a dual BA in Philosophy and Arts & Letters from PSU in 2009, before coming to Camp Fire Columbia in the Spring of 2015. Amyl believes that early experiences with nature, such as camp, can be a great tool in producing future stewards for the environment, as well as a positive influence for personal growth and developing confidence and leadership skills. She spends her free time goofing off with her daughter Olivia, reading fiction, watching BBC Detective shows and struggling to be active in her community, because for some reason they all set the meetings for Monday or Wednesday evenings.
