Camp Fire Columbia‘s 5th Annual Celebrity & Youth Talent Show raised over $90,000 in support of inspiring youth to achieve their aspirations, graduate on time, and love the outdoors.
The goal of the night was to encourage the community at large to continue help ing youth find their “spark,” hence the title of the evening: “Ignite The Spark!”
The talent show was hosted by their returning Master of Ceremonies, Dale Johannes and the auctioneer was Ian Lindsay. The “lip sync” battle was performed by Ramiyah Baker-Blunt, Kate Westfall, Maggie Cech, and KOIN-TV’s Jenny Hansson, who took home the battle crown.
Other performers included students from Cesar Chavez Middle School, Gilbert Heights Elementary, and Menlo Park Elementary. Alana Eckert was given the Volunteer Award for all of her contributions to Camp Fireover the past decades.
One of the highlights of the evening was Sarahi Mejia, who shared her personal story with attendees. Sarahi’s story exemplifies the core of Camp Fire’s work – that every student has the ability to succeed, grow, and thrive with support from adults who listen, care, and inspire.
