Parent Information

Whether you are sending your child to camp for the first time, the fifth time, or the tenth time, it can be both an exciting and perhaps a nerve-wracking experience for you and your child. Below is important information to help be as prepared as possible.

Ranch Camp Answer Guide

Our Parent Answer Guides include specific camp session information including drop off and pick up times and location, packing list, medications, camp mail and other topics. All Ranch Campers are dropped off at Ranch Camp. Click the guide below for the number of days in your camper’s session.

Online Health History Form &
Emergency Medical Consent

Each Camper is required to submit a Health History and Emergency consent annually. The form provides us with all of the important health information we need to support your child during their stay at Camp Namanu. Camp Namanu uses CampManagement.com, an online service, to collect this information. CampManagement.com is a secure website and has been approved for use by the American Camp Association. There is no fee to submit your Health History online. Camp Management login instructions will be emailed out to registered campers on an ongoing basis.

Campers with Special Needs

Camp Namanu offers an inclusive environment and our program is typically able to provide a successful experience for campers with mild special needs. However, our staff and programs are not equipped to work with kids who need a lot of assistance with personal care, constant one-on-one support or who have significant difficulty controlling disruptive behavior. Youth who adversely affect other campers’ experience may not be ready for the close living situation that camp involves and may not be successful at Namanu. If your child has a disability or behavioral challenges, please call the Resident Camp Director before registering and we can help you determine if Camp Namanu is the best option for your child or assist you in finding the best camp to fit your child’s needs. Special Dietary Needs

Camp Namanu’s kitchen staff is proud of its ability to provide well-balanced meals for every child at camp. A vegetarian option is always available for campers whose parents request this on their child’s paperwork. Parents of vegan campers, or campers with specific food allergies (gluten, peanut, etc.) should contact the Resident Camp Director at (503)224-7800, ext. 121 or ksummers@campfirecolumbia.org to discuss their child’s dietary needs and Namanu’s ability to accommodate those needs.

The American Camp Association (ACA), of which Camp Namanu is a member, provides excellent resources to help you make camp a positive and fun experience for you and your child. Check out some great resources from ACA that may assist you and your child in your decision making process.
