Our Programs

Namanu Ranch Camp is a horse lover’s paradise. Our riding instructors assign campers to individual horses and teach horsemanship skills and safety practices. Campers live near the horses in open-air cabins with staff in cabins nearby.

Our Ranch site is located at the top of camp about a 30 minute hike from the main camp area. The campers will live, ride and enjoy activities in a smaller community. Ranch campers do most of their programming in this space away from the hustle and bustle of main camp.  Counselors live in cabins near the campers but not in the cabin.

In addition to working with the horses, Ranch campers may participate in some main camp activities, including: weavery, swimming, the climbing tower, high & low ropes elements and campfires.

The Standard Ranch program (for campers entering 6th – 12th grades) is designed for beginning and intermediate riders.

The Extended Ranch program (for campers entering 7th – 12 grades) is perfect for the intermediate rider.

Ranch staff will conduct a riding evaluation of the campers upon their arrival to determine which riding group is most appropriate for each camper. Our program is designed for beginner to lower intermediate riders and it is the exception, for our campers to canter during their stay.

All Ranch campers learn equestrian basics, including care, feeding, mounting, dismounting, saddling, grooming, tacking, and riding. Campers can expect to ride both in the arena and on beautiful, wooded trails!
