Each year Camp Fire councils across the country celebrate Absolutely Incredible Kid Day (AIKD). This year AIKD is Thursday, March 16, and we are celebrating throughout the month of March at Camp Fire Columbia.

AIKD is a special day honoring our nation’s youth. Adults and teens participate by posting, tweeting, and tagging (#AIKD) notes of encouragement and inspiration. It is a simple, meaningful way to let youth know how much they are appreciated.

Absolutely Incredible Kid Day #AIKD 2017

For AIKD, Camp Fire staff present their notes to groups and individual students letting them know just how amazing they are.

Susan Cook, Site Supervisor in our Before and After School program at Creative Science, even wrote an alliterative poem that includes a shout out to each of the 88 Camp Fire kids! Take a look!

We are so excited for all of the ways that we can celebrate Camp Fire youth by encouraging their sparks, creativity, and resilience on AIKD, and every day of the year.

Check out more of our #AIKD notes on our Facebook page. There’s still time to share one of your own! Contact Joe LeBlanc, Communications Manager, by email for more info.
