Prior to joining Camp Fire two years ago, Sarah spent the previous two years in her hometown of Seattle — one year working with the MLK VISTA AmeriCorps team and the other with youth in an after school program with Community Day School Association. In 2011, she graduated from Willamette University in Salem with a degree in Sociology. During her time in Oregon, Sarah has worked with youth in a variety of capacities from an after school program, to a summer program at the Boys and Girls Club, to a middle and high school college access program. She believes deeply in youth growth & self-reflection both as individuals and as a community and is excited to work with Camp Fire students to develop skills & tools to be their best selves. In addition to working at Camp Fire, Sarah spends her mornings running and is aiming to complete her 5th half-marathon in the spring! Sarah also enjoys hiking around the Northwest, doing crafts, cooking new foods, baking desserts, and visiting her family.
