Now living in SW Washington, Leona was born and raised on the Southern Oregon coast, relocating to several other states over 6 years while a Meteorologist in the US Air Force. She serves as first point of contact providing onsite-HR support to the organization and individual employees regarding employee relations, recruitment and on-boarding, benefit administration, and HR Compliance. In her role, Leona seeks to promote diversity, legal compliance, and ethical HR best practices to support company’s mission, culture, and strategic direction.
Prior to joining the Camp Fire Columbia team, she worked in HR for over 4 years with a Property Management company, leading the HR efforts through several years of company growth.
In her personal time, Leona enjoys spends time with her husband and two school-age children. She also enjoys exploring new foods as well as relaxing with a good fictional novel.
Leona earned a BA in Personnel Psychology and Human Resource Management from WSU-Vancouver. She also holds her professional certification in HR (SHRM-CP) and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
