About Jenomi

Jenomi is from Santa Fe, New Mexico although they were born in Dallas, Texas. In New Mexico, Jenomi lived in a Buddhist temple before moving to Portland when they were eight years old. Jenomi is currently working towards earning their bachelor’s degree in social work. This is their first year working with Camp Fire, but they’ve been working with children since 2010 through Camp Namanu, Portland Parks & Rec, KinderCare, and nannying. While attending Western Oregon University and Mt. Hood Community College, Jenomi received their certificate in early childhood education.

This year at Camp Fire Jenomi is excited to apply their knowledge of working with kids, and to share their love of learning new things. Jenomi has a greatly positive attitude, and above all has respect for all staff and students. In Jenomi’s free time they like to listen to music, take pictures, write poetry, ride a bike, play basketball, and go for a hike or do anything outside! Jenomi currently volunteers part of their Saturdays at Boys and Girls Aid, working with young children in the foster care system.
