Colin is a California native, originally from the suburbs of Oakland, but has gladly found a home in the Northwest. He joined Camp Fire Columbia in 2015, and loves being able to teach his students crucial skills that they will need upon graduating high school. Colin’s also very excited about supporting youth become more active in student advocacy, where he will work with his students individually as a mentor. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, riding his bike, soaking up the beautiful outdoors, traveling, and reading up about what’s happening around the globe.
Colin has been teaching 5th grade and subbing all over the Portland metro area ever since spending two years living in Brooklyn where he worked as a student advocate for The Harlem Children’s Zone. He has also taught ESL at a private Yeshiva school in Brooklyn.
Colin attended The Evergreen State College in Olympia for his undergrad, and then received his Masters in Teaching from The University of Portland.
