Camp Fire Columbia’s Youth Volunteer Corps are going to be volunteering with Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, March 25, 2017, from 8:00am-12:00pm.
At the event our YVC students will help build a home at the Allen Estates neighborhood in Beaverton. It’s an opportunity for the students to learn about the services that Habitat for Humanity provides for our local communities and to also roll-up their sleeves and learn some hands-on construction skills.

Volunteer activities include, but not limited to: interior house work, painting, finish work, etc. as well as framing, building walls, etc. Training for all volunteer activities will be provided at the event.

We are currently at capacity for the number of volunteers for the event.

Information for participants:
Date and Time: Saturday, March 25, 2017, from 7:00am-12:30pm

Meeting Time and Location: Participants will meet at 7:00am in front of Fir Ridge High School main entrance (11215 SE Market St, Portland, OR 97216) and carpool in the Camp Fire Bus to the Habitat building site. The bus will leave by 7:15 am.

Return Time and Location: Participants will return to Fir Ridge high school around 12:30pm. Student volunteers should coordinate transportation home from the school.

What to bring: Please dress weather appropriate and wear clothes that you do not mind enduring a little wear and tear from construction work (think paint, sawdust, etc.).

Also, all student volunteers are required to complete and bring the following waivers (2), permission slip (1), and registration form (1). *Note: if you have already completed a Camp Fire Columbia 2016-2017 registration form you are not required to complete it again.
